Best practices
Habits that consistently produce great output.
Set the frame first
Always start a new design by picking the right canvas size. Layouts optimize around the aspect ratio, so choosing correctly upfront saves a lot of iteration.
Ground it in a brand kit
Even a lightly-filled brand kit (just brand colors and a font pair) noticeably improves consistency. If you produce for multiple clients or personas, keep one kit per brand and switch between them.
Small edits win
Nudge the design instead of restarting. 'Slightly larger headline. More air around the CTA. Warmer background.' Small deltas keep the rest of your design stable and preserve the version history.
Save winners as templates
When a layout works well, promote it to a template. Future work becomes duplicate-and-edit rather than rebuild-from-scratch.
Use folders once you scale
Below ~20 items you probably don't need folders. Above that, a folder per campaign or client makes retrieval fast.
